The Daughter-in-Law

At the end of World War II, Ah-Dee, who fought under Japanese command, returns to the mountains of central Taiwan and resumes his activities as a bamboo farmer. Traumatized by the war, he is unable to marry but adopts a son named Spring, and later on, a young woman, Tangerine, for her to become his wife. But when Spring must leave for military service, Ah Dee's long repressed desires reappear : he falls madly in love with his daughter-in-law.
