Emmett Alston began his career in the 1970s as a cinematographer, working on the experimental horror film Moonchild and co-producing the drive-in movie Country Blue. He went on to make his directorial debut with the comedy Three-Day Weekend and furthered his directing career with the horror films New Year's Evil and Demonwarp.
