Carlos Eduardo Lyra Barbosa (Rio de Janeiro, May 11, 1933 – Rio de Janeiro, December 16, 2023) was a Brazilian singer, composer and guitarist. Along with Roberto Menescal, he was one of the young figures of bossa nova. It was part of a more activist bossa nova, proposing the return of the rhythm to its roots in samba.
