Darren was born in Vancouver BC and grew up in Richmond, BC Canada. At the age of eight he took up Karate and received his black belt at the age of 11. He competed through out his high school and college/post college years becoming a Canadian National Champion in both forms and point sparring. The 1995 feature film "The Hunted" was his first on set experience where he played a ninja along side the stuntmen. After one year of training in Japan with his masters and the Tenri University Karate Team, where he learned a fair bit of Japanese, his pursuits continued. His Eurasian good looks have often had him compared to other Eurasian talents all over the world but in recent years he has found his own individuality, versatility and acting style that has gained him some recognition and praise. HIs latest feature film Cartels exhibits his talents as a leading man.
