**Honnavalli Krishna** (born 4 February 1950) is a veteran Indian actor who works predominantly in Kannada cinema. With a prolific career spanning over five decades and an astonishing record of acting in more than 1,000 films, he is widely celebrated as one of Sandalwood's most recognizable, dependable, and ubiquitous character actors and comedians. Born in Honnavalli village in the Arkalgud taluk of the Hassan district in Karnataka, Krishna developed a passion for the performing arts during his formative years. He moved to Bengaluru to pursue an acting career, spending his initial days navigating the city's theatre circuit and working in minor roles before breaking into mainstream cinema. He made his feature film acting debut in 1974 with the mythological film *Sri Srinivasa Kalyana*. He subsequently gained visibility with appearances in notable films of the late 1970s such as *Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu* (1974), *Sanaadi Appanna* (1977), *Olavu Geluvu* (1977), and *Shankar Guru* (1978). Known for his distinctive comedic timing, expressive face, and effortless ability to portray rustic characters, temple priests, clerks, and loyal aides, he quickly became a staple supporting artist across major productions throughout the 1980s and 1990s. During this golden era of commercial cinema, Krishna frequently shared the screen with stalwarts such as Dr. Rajkumar, Vishnuvardhan, Ambareesh, and Shiva Rajkumar. His prominent films from this period include *Vasantha Geetha* (1980), *Keralida Simha* (1981), *Dhruva Thare* (1985), *Anand* (1986), *Ratha Sapthami* (1986), *Manamecchida Hudugi* (1987), *Inspector Vikram* (1989), *Aasegobba Meesegobba* (1990), *Mruthyunjaya* (1990), *Om* (1995), and *Janumada Jodi* (1996). He effortlessly transitioned into modern commercial cinema across the 2000s and 2010s, maintaining an uninterrupted screen presence. His notable later appearances include *Appu* (2002), *Raktha Kanneeru* (2003), *Veera Kannadiga* (2004), *Aakash* (2005), *Jackie* (2010), *Anna Bond* (2012), *Drama* (2012), *Raajakumara* (2017), *Mayabazar 2016* (2020), and *Harikathe Alla Girikathe* (2022). Honored by the industry for reaching the rare milestone of appearing in over a thousand feature films, he remains one of the most endearing and familiar faces in the history of Kannada cinema.
