Renata Pinheiro began her career as a contemporary artist. Sponsored by a British Council grant, was resident artist at the John Moores University - UK. Participated in several exhibitions of contemporary art and video art in Brazil and abroad. In 2002, she studied at the INA Formation (Institut National de l'Audiovisuel) in Paris, FR. SuperBarroco, her first short film, had its world premier at the Directors’Fortnight , Cannes 2009. It has won more than 40 awards including the best short film by The Brasilian Academy of Cinema, best film at 41° Festival de Brasilia 2008, and others. Walt Disney Square (co-direction Sergio Oliveira) had its world premier at the Festival Del Film Locarno 2011, and it has won about 15 awards in different Festivals. Wanderers is her first documentary feature (co-direction Sergio Oliveira) had Brazillian premier at Semana dos Realizadores (2011) where won Best Film. Love, Plastic and Noise is her first fiction feature film.
