From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Richard J. Lewis is a television and film director born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. From 2002 to 2009, Lewis worked on the CBS television crime`drama series, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation as writer, director and co-executive producer. He is best known for directing the films Whale Music (1994) and Barney's Version (2010), the latter featuring a Golden Globe winning performance by actor Paul Giamatti.
