Mostafa Derkaoui is a Moroccan Filmmaker born in Oujda in 1944. He obtained a bachelor's degree in philosophy in 1962, and continued his studies at the Conservatory of Dramatic Art in Casablanca before joining, in 1965, the National School of Cinema and Theater of LODZ in Poland , where he is a laureate in achievement. In 1973, he joined the Moroccan Cinematographic Center from where he resigned in 1975. Previously (1974), he had founded with his brother Abdelkrim Derkaoui, and Larbi Belakkaf the company "BASMA-PRODUCTION". In 1980, he founded the company "ART 7". He was appointed in September 2000, President of the Jury at the African Film Festival in Khouribga.
