A versatile actress and creator, Louise Latraverse has been a defining presence in Quebec’s cultural landscape for more than six decades. She began her career in radio before turning to theatre, where she performed over thirty roles and served as director of the Théâtre de Quat’Sous from 1984 to 1986. On television, she became a familiar face through popular series such as Côte de sable, Moi et l’autre, Symphorien, Grand-Papa, Les Héritiers Duval, Le Retour, Mauvais Karma, and 30 vies. In film, she is notably recognized for her work in Michel Brault’s Les Ordres, Entre la mer et l’eau douce, Deux actrices, À l’origine d’un cri, and Mon cirque à moi. An artist with a free‑spirited and unconventional path, she is also a columnist, author, painter, and theatre translator.
