Carolyn Bernstein is the Executive Vice President of Scripted and Documentary Films at National Geographic, overseeing the network's award-winning documentary films and scripted content. Under her leadership, National Geographic has produced acclaimed documentaries such as Free Solo, The Cave, and Fire of Love, as well as the Genius series. Prior to joining National Geographic in 2016, Bernstein served as Executive Vice President of Scripted Television at Endemol Shine Studios and Shine America, where she was the executive producer of the FX series The Bridge. Before that, she was Executive Vice President of Drama Development at The WB, where she developed series such as Gilmore Girls, Smallville, One Tree Hill, and Supernatural. Bernstein holds a degree in Comparative Literature from Brown University. In 2024, she was recognized as one of the "Wonder Women of Los Angeles" by NextTV for her contributions to the entertainment industry.
