Laurynas Bareiša (b.1988/02/26, Kaunas, Lithuania) holds a bachelor's degree in both applied mathematics from Vilnius University and in cinematography from Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. In 2016 he finished his studies for a master’s degree in film directing. His first short film "Dembava" was in one of the Top 5 lists of Cineuropa 2014. In 2014 he and producer Klementina Remeikaite established the film production company "afterschool", with which he produced and directed the short films "The camel" (San Sebastian FF 2016, Students meeting point programme), "By the pool" (Venice FF 2017) and "Caucasus" (Locarno FF 2018). Laurynas attended EKRAN+ in 2015, and HIS short film "By the pool" was developed in Baltic Pitching Forum and won the pitching session at the European Short Pitch 2016 by NISIMASA. In 2017 he worked as cinematographer in the feature film "Summer Survivors" directed by Marija Kavtardze (TIFF 2018).
