Paul started his comedy career performing at open mics as a junior at Yale University. He was first runner-up in the university's 2011 Last Comic Standing competition and hosted its Fall Show starring professional comic Bo Burnham later that year. While at school, Paul also directed the artwork and wrote for The Yale Record, the nation's oldest college humor magazine.
