Hailing from Texas and based in the Midwest, N.M. Alvarez is a writer, director, actor, producer, editor and colorist with a knack for the bizarre. Blending queer sensibilities with surrealist flare, Alvarez has developed a distinct style aimed at cult audiences. Inspired by everything from R.L. Stine to Andrzej Zulawski, they aim to shake up the cinematic underground with consistently transgressive and unconventional narratives that blur the line between camp and art-house filmmaking.
