Walt Perez is an award-winning filmmaker who began working on independent and commercial productions in 2008. On March 10, 2009 he founded the production company Verloren Productions. His producing partners are Soraya Haiven Gonzalez & Søren Odom. With Warner Bros., Walt has worked in various films & television shows which include; "Doctor Sleep", "Annabelle Comes Home", "Magic Mike's Last Dance", "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom", "Two and a Half Men", "The Voice", "Mike & Molly", "The Kominsky Method" and "Perry Mason". He has also done freelance work for Walt Disney Pictures, Universal Pictures, Netflix Studios, Amazon Studios, Lionsgate, Macro and Bron Studios. Walt made greater strides as a writer, producer and director in recent years with the critically acclaimed film "Here in the East". The film brought him numerous honors, including awards at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards, Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival and the Chicano International Film Festival for Directing and Best Film. In 2020, Walt captivated audiences with the psychological thriller "Into the Night", which he directed, produced and adapted from a story by Stephen King. After two successful premieres at the Dryden Theatre and Warner Bros. Studios; the film entered the Film Festival circuit in 2020. The film received acclaimed and various festival award nominations. Among its many honors, Adrian De Leon's performance was praised. In 2021, Into the Night was qualified for consideration in the 93rd Academy Awards, under the Best Live Action Short Film Category. In 2022, Verloren Productions and director A.M. Walters returned to the world of Stephen King with "The Stationary Bike". An adaptation of King's short story of the same name. The film premiered at Raleigh Studios in the fall of 2022. "The Stationary Bike" went on to be nominated and win accolades in the film festival season of 2022 and 2023. In 2023, Verloren Productions premiered "NorJack" at the 76th Festival de Cannes, Court Métrage. The film was written, produced and directed by Perez. On September 16th, 2023, the film had its LA premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatres. The film screened in various film festivals; receiving acclaim and crowned as one of the top short films of 2023. "NorJack" was qualified for consideration in the 96th Academy Awards, under the Best Live Action Short Film Category. At the 2023 Cannes Marché du Film, Walt introduced a new feature film in development titled "Macho!" This coming of age story holds a personal connection to Walt. The film has gathered momentum and the attention of producers, Albert S. Ruddy, Mayan Lopez, Ann Serrano Lopez, Ben DeJesus and David Kern. In 2024, Verloren Productions released two short films; "Ucronia" & "Driftin' on a Memory". The first was written, produced and directed by Perez. The film stars Julian André, Sarah Hamilton, Kenneth Rovira, Jocelyn Kilpatrick and Alicia Urizar McCallum. The second title was written, produced and directed by Angel Ruvalcaba. The film stars Peter Mendoza, Hugo Mejia, Basilio Cerdan Jr. and Carlos Sanchez. Both films have received praise from filmmakers and general audiences. Walt considers the two titles companion pieces as they discuss the theme of Mental Health. Walt resides in Los Angeles, California and continues to be active in film.
