Alfonso de Portago, full name Alfonso Antonio Vicente Eduardo Ángel Blas Francisco de Borja Cabeza de Vaca y Leighton, was born on October 11, 1928, in London, England. A Spanish nobleman and Formula One driver, Portago was known for his adventurous spirit and versatility, competing in events ranging from motor racing to bobsledding. As a Ferrari driver, he achieved notable success, though his career was tragically short. He died in a fatal crash during the Mille Miglia race on May 12, 1957, in Guidizzolo, Italy, at the age of 28.
