Masud Pathik

Dr. Masud Pathik is an internationally acclaimed filmmaker, poet, and scholar based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He was awarded the prestigious Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2023 for his outstanding contributions to arts and letters. As a visionary filmmaker, he has received multiple National Film Awards from the Government of Bangladesh for his critically acclaimed features "Nekabborer Mohaproyan" (2014) and "Maya: The Lost Mother" (2019). ​Pathik is the chief proponent of "Poetic Cinema" and "Raw Realism" in contemporary South Asian film, focusing deeply on the primal, spiritual, and existential connections between humanity and the natural environment. He holds a Ph.D. in Cinematic Music from Assam University, India, and an M.Phil. and Master's from the University of Dhaka. He serves as the Chief Executive of the production house Bratya Creation and is the President of the World Ecology Film Forum (Bangladesh). As a dedicated literary figure, he has published 24 volumes of poetry and proudly refers to himself as a "Servant of Poetry".
