Even before perestroika, there was a special laboratory at the Institute of Information Technologies in the USSR, where people’s extrasensory abilities were studied, with the aim of explaining them from a scientific perspective. It was there that Nikolai Arbenin and Viktor Stavitsky first met. Their rivalry, which began as a struggle between two men for a woman’s heart, over the years grew into a real “battle of the psychics” — only it takes place not on television, but in real life.
