Matthew McConaughey
Matthew David McConaughey (born November 4, 1969) is an American actor and producer, renowned for his charisma and his distinctive "alright, alright, alright" philosophy. He has been honored with the Academy Award for Best Actor, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild Award for his transformative portrayal of Ron Woodroof in the biographical drama Dallas Buyers Club (2013). In 2014, he was included in Time magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world. His breakout role came in the cult comedy Dazed and Confused (1993), but he established himself as a Hollywood star leading successful romantic comedies in the early 2000s, such as The Wedding Planner (2001) and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003). Following a period dominated by this genre, McConaughey underwent the "McConnaissance," a career phase where he sought more complex and dramatic roles, excelling in films like The Lincoln Lawyer (2011), Mud (2012), and Magic Mike (2012). In the last decade, his impact has spanned both auteur cinema and major space productions, notably with his lead role in Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi epic Interstellar (2014). He also received unanimous praise for his performance in the first season of the anthology series True Detective (2014). Beyond acting, he is the author of the bestseller Greenlights (2020), where he shares memoirs and life lessons, and is a co-owner of the Austin FC soccer club. Recently, he has remained active in the industry with projects like The Gentlemen and his highly anticipated return to the big screen in The Lost Bus (2025) and upcoming productions for 2026.
